HOUSTON- Sophomore distance runner Alexis Vick was selected as a University of Houston College of Natural Sciences & Mathematics Ambassador on Tuesday.

NSM Ambassadors are typically selected during the spring semester of their sophomore year at Houston to begin two years of service in the fall semester of their junior year.

To qualify, students must be a full-time NSM major with a GPA of 3.0 or better after three semesters at the University, with two years of full-time study at NSM remaining. In addition to being outstanding students, NSM Ambassadors must have excellent written and verbal communications skills, strong leadership skills, integrity, and a professional work ethic.

Vick, a biology major from San Antonio, Texas, is a two-time selection to the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and has received the C-USA Academic Medal for two consecutive years. After her time as a Cougar, Vick would like to enroll into medical school to become a physician.
