Cross Country Reports to Camp

Aug. 18, 2008

HOUSTON--The University of Houston cross-country team reported to practice Monday in preparation for the 2008 season.

The team first met at school for paperwork and will head to camp in Bend, Texas Monday afternoon until Friday Aug. 22.

"Everyone is looking good. As a team everyone seems really excited to get the season started. Our freshmen are upbeat and a little overwhelmed of the new experience, but in time it will all come together for them," head coach Ryan Turner said.

Most of Monday will be spend taking care of business and travel. There will be an easy run in the evening. Tuesday, the team will begin full practice.

"Our first meet is a little less than two weeks away, and I think as a whole our team has made a much more conscious effort to come into the season prepared to race." Turner said.

The Cougars kick off the season Aug. 29, playing host to the 2008 Johnny Morriss Invitational.
