Houston Cross Country Teams Open The 2003 Season On Friday, August 29

Houston, Texas - The University of Houston men's and women's cross country teams will open their 2003 season when they host the Houston-Rice Relay at 6:30 p.m. in McGregor Park on Friday, August 30. McGregor Park is located on the Calhoun between the UH campus and Old Spanish Trail.

The men's race will be eight miles long, while the women's race will be six miles. Each relay team will consist of two competitors running two legs of varying distances. The men will run legs of two miles, while the women run 1.5 miles per leg.

Houston will have Brent Henson, Sesar Figueroa, Ronnie Martinez, Jason Banes, Cole Dailey, Maurillio Sanchez and Paul Goodwin competing in the men's race. Terie Littlepage, Jessica Oakes, Rachel Freeman, Janay Covington, Shawna Florida, Veronica Ramirez, Chelsea Belew and Cynthia Baker will compete in the women's race for the Lady Cougars.
