HOUSTON - University of Houston men's cross country runner Stephen Magness earns his first Cross Country Athlete of the Week today announced Conference USA headquarters, today, Sept. 25.

Magness' honor come after clocking an 8K time of 24:27 to finish fourth at the Texas A&M Invitational last weekend, Sept. 22 in College Station, Texas. Magness came in behind only three other men, two from ranked regional teams, and the 2006 Texas A&M Invitational winner. The Houston native led the Cougars to a fourth-place team finish, which in turn helped the team to a No. 12 regional ranking. The three teams that the Cougars followed were all regionally ranked in the top-10 at the time of the race.
