    Barraza Completes Season in 60th at Nationals

    Barraza Heads to Louisville for NCAA Championships

    Stillwater, Okla.- The University of Houston men's cross country team finished in ninth place at the Oklahoma State Cross Country Jamboree in Stillwater, Okla. on Saturday morning.

    The Cougars had a team score of 296 points at the meet that was won by Abilene Christian University with 40 points. Arkansas finished second with 50 points, while the host school was third with 73 points.

    Houston finished ninth behind Texas Tech, which scored 277 points and Baylor and Missouri Southern who tied for sixth with 231 points.

    The Cougars were paced by junior Mike Olague, who finished 11th overall in the race with a time of 24:52. Toartou Kargou was Houston's next best finisher as he was 59th in a time of 26:28.

    Houston travels to South Bend, Ind. next Friday, October 6, where the Cougars will compete in the Notre Dame Invitational. The meet will have six of the nation's Top 25 teams competing.
