    Barraza Completes Season in 60th at Nationals

    Barraza Heads to Louisville for NCAA Championships

    Stillwater, Okla.- The University of Houston women's cross country team finished in sixth place at the Oklahoma State Cross Country Jamboree in Stillwater, Okla. on Saturday, September 30.

    The Lady Cougars had a team score of 187 points at the meet that was won by TCU with 61 points. The Lady Frogs edged the host school, Oklahoma State, which finished second with 89 points. Texas Tech was third with 104 points and Baylor was fourth with 117 points. UT-Arlington posted a team score of 163 points to edge Houston and Kansas, who was seventh with 192 points.

    Houston was paced by senior Monica Reyna, who finished 23rd overall as an individual with a time of 18:51. Julie Perez was 30th with a time of 19:13 and Jessica Oakes was 32nd in 19:18.

    The Lady Cougars travel to South Bend, Ind. next Friday, October 6, where they will compete in the Notre Dame Invitational. The meet will have six of the nation's Top 25 teams competing.
