Cougar Cross Country Team Move Up to Number Eight In Latest South Central Regional Poll

After a second-place finish at the Texas A&M Corpus Christi's Islander Splash, the University of Houston men's cross country team moved up three spots in the latest NCAA South Central Regional Poll.

Houston moved ahead of LSU, SMU and Texas A&M-CC in this week's poll as the Cougars climbed from Number 11 to Eighth in this week's poll.

Arkansas is the top ranked team in the poll and is ranked ninth nationally. The Razorbacks received all 15 first place votes. The other Top 10 ranked teams are Texas A&M, Texas, Baylor, Rice, Stephen F. Austin, Sam Houston State, Houston, LSU and SMU.

In the women's poll, Houston is ranked 12th. Arkansas is the top ranked team with 190 points after receiving eight first place votes. Baylor received five first-place votes and are ranked second with 185 points. The other Top 11 teams are Texas A&M, Texas, TCU, SMU, Rice, Texas-Arlington, Stephen F. Austin, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Tulane.
