Houston, Texas- - The University of Houston men's and women's cross country teams will host the Houston Invitational on the Texas National Golf Course in Willis, Texas on Wednesday, October 23, at 6:00 p.m.

Houston will be competing against teams from the University of Texas, Texas-Arlington, Texas Southern, Prairie View A&M, Rice, Sam Houston State and Texas A&M.

Both of Houston's teams have been idle since both teams finished in third place at the Texas A&M Invitational on October 12. Senior Mike Olague led the Cougars with a third-place finish as he completed the five-mile course in 26:06. Sophomore Kelly McCarty was the Lady Cougars' top runner when she finished in sixth place. McCarty completed the five-kilometer course in 22:30.

This will be Houston's final tune-up before the Cougars travel to Hattiesburg, Miss. and compete in the Conference USA Championships on November 2.
