University of Houston senior cross country runner Mike Olague has qualified as an individual to run in the NCAA Championships on November 24 in Terre Haute Ind..

Olague qualified for his second NCAA berth in the last three years after finishing in 14th place at the NCAA South Central Regional Championships in Waco, Texas on November 16. He completed the 10,000-meter course at the NCAA Regional meet in 31:06.

He becomes the first Cougar since 1985 to qualify to run in two NCAA Cross Country Championships during their career. Anthony Smith, the 1985 Southwest Conference champion, qualified for the NCAA meet in 1984 and 1985.

Olague also competed in the 2000 NCAA Cross Country Championships after finishing in ninth palace at the NCAA South Regional Meet. He sat out last season as a redshirt.
