Houston Football Thanks Fans for Their Support

Zach McMillian

HOUSTON - Student-athletes from the University of Houston football program spent portions of their nights over the last two weeks calling and thanking 2012 season ticket account holders for their support last fall.  A number of players spread out to phones each night throughout the Athletics/Alumni Center for the event orchestrated by Cougar Pride.

"Thanking our fans for their support was something we as a team really wanted to do," said Houston defensive back Zach McMillian. "While we didn't necessarily reach our goals as a team last season, it meant a lot to see our faithful fans stick with us. I don't think they know how much we appreciate them and we can't wait to get back to the field this fall and show them and others what we can achieve."

More than 3,000 season ticket accounts were reached throughout the event and received words of thanks from Houston football players for their support in UH's last season in Conference USA. Houston officially moves to the Big East Conference on July 1, 2013.

"While we hold our annual Cougar Pride Thank-a-Thon each spring with all 16 of our sport programs, this was a special occasion for our football players to thank the fans who support them game in and game out," said Jeramiah Dickey, UH Associate AD for External Relations. "It is vital for our program to recognize our devoted fan base as we continue to strive for Tier One athletics excellence."

Deposits are now being taken for new 2013 football season tickets on UHCougars.com as a $75 per seat deposit puts you in line for the best available season ticket location after season ticket renewal in the spring. Season ticket holders also have the ability to begin building priority for great seats in the new Houston Football Stadium in 2014.

2012 Season ticket holders do not need to place a deposit for 2013 season tickets. 2012 Season ticket holders will automatically receive a renewal email in March to renew their 2012 tickets.
