Was expected to be a major contributor before a hamstring injury in prematurely ended his season… Appeared in only 12 games with 11 starts… Made several key pinch-hit appearances… Made his UH pitching debut at Pepperdine at the Battle at the Beach… Collected a save against the Waves with a pair of strikeouts… Broke out of an early-season slump in a big way against Alabama during the Minute Maid Park Classic… Went 4-for-5 with two runs, four RBIs and a home run against the Crimson Tide… Batted 2-for-4 against Texas A&M at the Minute Maid Park College Classic… Named to the All-Tournament Team after hitting .500 in three games… Went 2-for-4 with a run at LSU in the first game of that series… Saw his 60-game playing streak snapped in the middle game of the UL Lafayette series after straining his hamstring… Returned from injury to start at DH in the first game of the East Carolina series… Came off the bench to lace a pinch-hit, game-tying RBI-single in the sixth inning in the ECU series finale.

Drove in the game-winning run in the 13th inning with an infield groundout during the series finale at Southern Mississippi... Teamed with Chris Snyder in the fifth inning on back-to-back shots against the Green Wave... Gave the Cougars an early lead with a two-run home run against New Mexico State during the first game of the NCAA Regional at Mesa… Finished the day 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs against NMSU.
Attended San Jacinto JC for one year before transferring to Houston... Was an all-conference, all-region and All-America honoree in 2001 after hitting .377 with 17 home runs, 17 doubles and 73 RBIs... Also received the Rawlings Big Stick Award to help lead team to a 40-14 overall record... Went 8-for-12 with a double and four home runs in a series against Brownsville... Batted 4-for-6 with a double and three home runs in a series against Ranger JC... Played ball for one season at McClennan CC under head coach Paul Miller during the 2000 season... Batted .286 with 12 home runs, 12 doubles and 48 RBIs.
