Was Houston’s lone senior and was the winning pitcher on both the regular-season title game vs. Cincinnati (May 20) and in the American Championship tournament title game vs. East Carolina (May 28)…Made 13 appearances with 12 starts…Missed three starts late in the season due to injury, but bounced back on May 20 to help Cougars to a regular-season conference title…Finished year with an 8-1 record and was second-best with a 3.11 ERA...Totaled 81.0 innings with 40 strikeouts to just 10 walks…Had three complete games and one complete game shutout…Made first start of the year vs. Wake Forest (Feb. 19), tossing 7.0 innings in the no-decision…Earned first win of the year in a complete game effort at Texas A&M-CC (Feb. 26)…Won four straight starts to move to 4-0 early in the year…Also tallied a complete game shutout – his first ever – at Baylor (March 12), allowing just three hits with five strikeouts…Went on to lead Houston to an American Championship title in the conference tournament, tossing 6.2 shutout innings in a win over East Carolina (May 28)…Picked up eighth and final win of the year in the NCAA Houston Regional vs. Baylor (June 3)…Helped Houston to a regular-season and conference tournament championship title as well as the No. 1 seed in the NCAA Houston Regional…Drafted in 10th round (314) by the Texas Rangers.
Appeared in 17 games and made 10 starts in his debut season at Houston...Finished with a 3.51 ERA and a 6-4 record...Totaled 59.0 innings, striking out 42 and walking just 11...Was part of two combined shutouts in wins over Villanova (Feb. 20) and Prairie View A&M (May 4)...Went a season-long 6.1 innings in a win over Louisiana (May 11)...Struck out nine in his Cougar debut vs. Villanova (Feb. 20), holding the Wildcats scoreless and to just one hit in 6.0 shutout innings en route to being named American Pitcher of the Week following Week 1...Made seven relief appearances, going 2.1 innings for a season-long at Tulane (April 29).
Played two seasons at Angelina College…Helped team to a Regional Finalist and Conference Runner-Up in 2015…Was named First Team All-Conference in second year…Held a 3.12 ERA and was 8-5 on the bump.
