Another talented junior who should be a fixture in right field when the season begins... Started periodically throughout the season but emerged at the end of last season as an everyday player.
Recorded a .306 batting average while playing in 43 games... Went 2-for-3 with a double at UAB in the first game of that series... Went 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI as the starting DH against Tulane in the series finale... Came off the bench to go 2-for-2 with a run and RBI against Memphis in the first game of that series... Blasted his first home run of the season on the way to a 2-for-3 performance with a run and RBI against Memphis in the middle game of that series… Batted 2-for-4 with a run and RBI against South Florida in the first game of the series… Batted 3-for-4 with an RBI at Charlotte in the series finale... Grounded into a double play in his first collegiate at-bat and did not do it again the rest of the season.
Second Team All-Greater Houston selection as an infielder by the Houston Chronicle as a senior in 2000... Three-time all-district third baseman at Pearland, earning first team accolades as a senior (24-5A) and sophomore in 1998 (then 23-5A), as well as second-team (24-5A) honors as a junior in 1999... Led the Oilers to the Regional Semifinals and a 22-13 record... Coached by Tony Thompson... maintained a career batting average of .415 with 11 home runs... Batted .388 with seven home runs, 31 RBIs and 35 steals as a senior.
