Lettered for head coach Glen Kimble... Taken in the 46th round by the Houston Astros during the annual First-Year Player Draft in 2005. Senior (2005): Helped lead the Hornets to the Regional Finals on the way to being named District 21-3A Co-Most Valuable Player... Posted a perfect 9-0 record in district games only with a 0.30 ERA and 118 strikeouts in 46.1 innings... Also batted .514 with a pair of home runs and 16 RBIs... Struck out 13 batters in the first game of the best-of three Region finals... Tossed three no-hitters and four one-hitters... Named the Most Valuable Player of the 32nd Annual Texas High School Baseball Coaches All-Star Game after throwing seven strikeouts with only one hit allowed in three innings.
