Made his NCAA debut against LSU and started for the first time two days later against No. 1 Rice, where he collected three hits, drove in a run and scored... Slugged three hits against first-round draft pick Mark Prior... Also had three hits against Southern Miss and Saint Louis... Starting first baseman in 20 of 27 Conference USA games... Steady hitter who batted .275 against C-USA competition and .281 for all games... Slugged doubles against nationally-ranked Cal State Fullerton and at Memphis... Ended season on 15-for-34 (.441) streak... Freshman who was intentionally walked by Charlotte in the bottom of the ninth inning of the come-from-behind win... Went 3-for-8 in the series against No. 6 Tulane... Tallied a career-best three RBIs in the finale against the Green Wave... Came off the bench in the bottom of the ninth inning of the Baylor game to deliver a leadoff pinch-hit single... Had an outstanding Game Two of the regional, going 4-for-4 with the game-winning triple... Batted .458 with five home runs and 36 RBIs for the full season... Coached by Herb Espinosa... Outstanding student who scored an 1120 on the SAT
