Alumni and 2012 Cougars Represent Houston Baseball Well

IRVING, Texas - University of Houston junior shortstop Blake Kelso was named to the Conference USA Preseason All-Conference Team the league office announce on Wednesday. The annual team is voted on by the leagues nine baseball coaches.

The Pflugerville, Texas native was selected to the team after leading the team with a .336 batting average last season, with a team-best 16 doubles, three triples and two homeruns. After his performance in 2009, Kelso was named to the All C-USA Second Team and was an All-Academic Team recipient.

Kelso and the Cougars will open the 2010 baseball season on Feb. 19-21 when they welcome Texas State to Cougar Field for a three-game series.
