HOUSTON - Conference USA announced Thursday its preliminary television schedule for the 2010 season and the Cougars will have four games broadcast on TV this season.

"Anytime you get on television, it reaches a lot of markets and allows a lot of households get to see not only our team in action but the college environment, especially when we are here at home," head coach Rayner Noble said. "So, it is a good thing that we are on TV as many times as we are."

Houston will face-off against Rice on April 1-2 at 6:30 p.m. Both games will be played at Reckling Park and will also air on Comcast Sports Southwest (CSS). The two teams then return to Cougar Field for the final game of the Silver Glove Series on May 18. First-pitch is schedule for 6:30 p.m. and the game will also air on CSS.

With three of the five games of the Silver Glove Series airing on TV, Noble feels that it continues to add to the spotlight of the cross-town rivalry.

"It puts another stamp on how important those games are and it continues to validate the rivalry," Noble said.

The Cougars' final TV game of the season will be on May 21 when Houston travels to Greenville, N.C. to play East Carolina at 7 p.m. on CBS College Sports.

As part of the league's TV schedule 11 regular season games will be broadcast on four networks as well as a live broadcast of the C-USA Baseball Tournament Championship game on May 29.

The 2010 season kicks-off on Feb. 19 when the Cougars welcome Texas State to Cougar Field for a three-game series.
