San Luis Obispo, Calif. -- The University of Houston baseball team will look to extend its three-game win streak on Friday when they open their series against Cal Poly at 8 p.m. at Baggett Stadium.

The series will continue on Saturday at 8 p.m. and conclude on Sunday at 3 p.m.

Live stats and a live radio broadcast will be available for all three games this weekend by logging on to www.UHCougars.com.

This will be just the second meeting all-time between the two programs. The Cougars hosted a three-game series at Cougar field in 2009, going 1-2 against the Mustangs.

Houston (5-5) is coming off a week in which they finished 3-1, including a sweep of the competition at the Houston College Classic. UH opened the week with an 8-2 loss to Rice, but rebounded to shut out Missouri (3-0) and Texas (1-0) and knock off Texas Tech (15-8) at Minute Maid Park. The sweep at the annual tournament was the first in program history.

Joel Ansley paces the Cougars with a .412 batting average, followed by Blake Kelso at .385. Kelso along with Cougar designated hitter M.P. Cokinos was named to the Houston College Classic All-Tournament Team last weekend.

On the mound, Chase Dempsay leads all Cougars with a 1.29 ERA, a 1-0 record and 11 strikeouts. Michael Goodnight earned the win over Texas to improve to 2-1 on the mound. He posts a 3.78 ERA, with a team-leading 22 strikeouts. For his performance at the Classic, Goodnight was named to the All-Tournament team and went on to earn four National pitcher of the week awards, including the Conference USA selection.

Cal Poly is 6-6 entering this weekend's series, having knocked off Northern Illinois earlier this week. The Mustangs are led at the plate by Ross Brayton. Brayton holds a .412 batting average with a team-high 15 RBIs. On the mound, Mason Radeke holds a team-low 2.45 ERA with a 3-0 record.

Following the series against Cal Poly, Houston will make mid-week stops at San Francisco (March 16) and California (March 17) before heading to Arizona State on March 19-21.
