HOUSTON - The University of Houston baseball team will play its final home Conference USA series of the 2010 season when it hosts Marshall at Cougar Field this weekend. First pitch on Friday and Saturday is slated for 6:30 p.m., with the Sunday finale scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.

Prior to Saturday's contest the Cougars will honor the four members of the 2010 senior class: William Kankel, Barry Laird, Zak Presley and Chris Wallace.

The Cougars look to bounce back after a 12-3 loss to Texas A&M on Tuesday. In the loss, Laird earned his second start this season and pitched a career-long five innings, allowing three runs with two strikeouts. Blake Kelso and Austin Gracey each added two hits to lead the offense.

Houston stands at 20-27 on the season and 7-11 in C-USA play, while the Thundering Herd is 22-26 and 11-10 in league action.

This weekend will mark the 16th overall meeting between the two programs, with Houston holding a 13-2 lead in the overall series. In 2009, Houston swept the series, including a complete game shutout by Jared Ray in the series opener.

Zak Presley leads all Cougars at the plate with a .354 batting average. He also has five doubles, a triple, three home runs and 23 RBIs. Caleb Ramsey leads all Cougars with 12 doubles, and Chris Wallace has hit a team-leading seven home runs.
