Vote Jake Lemoine for the Premier Player Award

TAMPA, Fla. – Houston sophomore Jake Lemoine has been named one of 20 finalists up for The Premier Player of College Baseball Trophy, which honors the nation’s top player, presented by The Premier Players Sports Foundation.

The Bridge City, Texas native owns a 2.07 ERA and is 6-4 in 13 starts during his sophomore campaign. The righty-hander leads the Houston pitching staff with 79 strikeouts in 87.0 innings pitched, while holding opponents to a .220 average.

Lemoine has been instrumental in the success of Houston’s 39-13 season to this point. He is a huge part of the nation’s leading pitching staff, which owns a 1.96 ERA and has struck out 347 hitters and walked just 89 in 463.0 innings, while limiting opponents to a .218 average.

Lemoine recently accepted his invitation to compete for Team USA this summer of their Collegiate National Team, joining elite college players from across the nation.

The Premier Player of College Baseball Trophy is sponsored by the Premier Players Sports Foundation out of Tampa, Fla., which honors the nation’s top college baseball player at the end of the season.

The Premier Player of College Baseball & Softball Trophy is one of four major awards presented by the Premier Players Sports Foundation.  Others include The Premier Player of College Football, The Premier Player of College Basketball (for men and women); and The Premier Player of College Hockey awards – all voted by the fans.  The 19 lb. trophy is crafted by MTM Recognition, a leader in the design and manufacturing of awards for world-class events including the Olympics, Super Bowl, World Series and NCAA Championships. 

The Premier Players Sports Foundation is based in Tampa, FL.   Its mission is to provide orphaned, foster care and specials needs children the opportunity to play by providing proper equipment, apparel and league sponsorships.
