June 5, 2013

TUCSON, Ariz. – University of Houston Baseball freshmen Justin Montemayor and Kyle Survance were honored among the nation’s elite when named to the 2013 Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American Baseball Team, selected by Collegiate Baseball newspaper on Wednesday.
The duo was instrumental in the Cougars’ success, helping Houston post a 36-22 record and 13-11 mark in its final season in Conference USA, while breaking into the nation’s Top 30 for six weeks during the regular season.
Montemayor and Survance were two of six Conference USA student-athletes named to this prestigious list. Montemayor was one of just three first basemen honored.
