HOUSTON - University of Houston baseball player Blake Kelso was named to the 47th Under Armour Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star Game as it was announced by league officials on Thursday.

Kelso, a member of the second place Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox, will start at shortstop for the East Team. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. first pitch on July 23 at Boston's Fenway Park.

The Pfluggerville, Texas native, is currently in a third place tie in the league standings with 14 stolen bases and is tied for a league high with two triples. In addition, Kelso is second on his team with 11 RBI and holds a .286 batting average.

In addition to Kelso playing for the Y-D Red Sox, he is joined on the team by Chase Dempsay, Jared Ray and Michael Goodnight. Also playing in the Cape Cod League this summer, as a member of the Bourne Braves, is Chris Wallace.

The All-Star game will air live on the New England Sports Network (NESN) and NPR affiliate WCAI (90.1 FM) will also broadcast the game. NPR's Neal Conan will call the play-by-play with the Cape Cod's John Garner severing as the color analyst.
