HOUSTON - Four University of Houston baseball players continue to have a successful summer playing in the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL).

Leading the way is Blake Kelso, an All-Star game selection, going 1-for-1 at the game. In addition, Kelso on the season has recorded three doubles, two triples and 12 RBI, while seeing action at second base and shortstop.

Pitcher Michael Goodnight improved to 2-0 after earning the win on Sunday night against Brewster. He pitched seven innings, giving up just four hits with eight strikeouts. Goodnight has a 2.52 ERA on the season, with 31 strikeouts.

Outfielder Caleb Ramsey joined the team on July 28. In just four games he is batting .417, including a 2-for-5 performance with a run and two RBI on Sunday.

All three play for the Y-D Red Sox and currently sit atop the East standings with a 25-15-1 record.

Playing for the West leading Bourne Braves (21-17-2), Chris Wallace has seen action this summer at catcher. At the plate, however, he has hit two doubles, two home runs and 10 RBI.

The CCBL regular season ends on Aug. 6 with the playoffs beginning Aug. 7 through Aug. 13.
