HOUSTON - University of Houston catcher Chris Wallace will play in the Cape Cod Baseball League Championship Series 7 p.m. tonight, in game one in a best of three series. Wallace spent the summer playing for the Bourne Braves of the CCBL.

The Braves will host Cotuit Kettleers tonight and will play game two at 3 p.m. Aug. 12. If necessary, a third game will be played on Aug. 13 with the time to be announced.

The Braves defeated Orleans Firebirds early this week to advance to the Championship. Their opponents, Coutuit, defeated the Y-D Red Sox, which consisted of four Cougars, Blake Kelso, Michael Goodnight, Caleb Ramsey and Chase Dempsay. Jared Ray also played for the Red Sox before returning to Houston late in the summer.

Wallace consistently saw action at catcher for the Braves. He ended the regular season with three doubles, two home runs and 11 RBI.

Other notable performances in the CCBL league include:
Kelso was named to the CCBL All-Star game where he earned the starting spot at second base. He ended the season with three doubles, two triples and 13 RBI. Ramsey joined the team late in the season and concluded the season with a triple and three RBI.

On the mound, Dempsay pitched 11.2 innings while only allowing two hits and no runs, including 15 strikeouts. Goodnight finished the season with a 2.52 ERA in 35.2 innings, with 31 strikeouts. He also had a 2-0 record. Before returning to Houston, Ray went 1-1 in 18.1 innings, allowing nine hits with 18 strikeouts.
