HOUSTON - The University of Houston baseball team will wrap-up its fall season with a 1 p.m. scrimmage Sunday against Texas at Disch-Falk Field in Austin.

The 14-inning scrimmage, set to air on the Longhorn Network, will conclude the Cougars' fall season that began on Sept. 6 and included a 14-inning scrimmage against Rice earlier in the week. Fans can also watch the scrimmage online at http://espn.go.com/longhornnetwork/?debug=true.

Tickets for the scrimmage will be $5 and seating is general admission. Parking in Lot 104 will be free.

The Houston roster includes 14 letterwinners from last season's squad that advanced to the Conference USA Championship title game. In addition, 20 newcomers join the team.

Houston's scrimmage against Rice Tuesday night at Cougar Field gave head coach Todd Whitting his first chance to evaluate his young squad. The night's highlights included freshman Price Jacobs going 3-for-5 at the plate with a triple and home run. Juniors Casey Grayson and Wes Theiss and freshman Keegan Sanford each added two hits on the night.

In addition, nine Cougar pitchers saw action in the contest. Junior Aaron Stewart struck out three batters in an inning of work, while freshman Aaron Garza and junior Ryan Bonnot each had two strikeouts. Juniors Austin Pruitt and Matt Hernandez each pitched two innings to open the scrimmage, allowing a combined four hits.

UH opens the 2012 season at 6:30 p.m., Feb. 17 against Delaware at Cougar Field. The weekend series will continue at 6:30 p.m., Feb. 18 and conclude at 1 p.m., Feb. 20.
