HOUSTON – In a winner-take-all game, Houston Baseball put together a show in its Friday finale of the 2017 Red-White World Series with Red coming out on top over White, 5-3, at Schroeder Park.
Red earns the series win after the two teams ended in a 0-0 tie on Thursday in Game 1.
4th | Red jumped out with the series’ first runs in the fourth, scratching across three in the frame. Lael Lockhart Jr. opened the inning with a leadoff triple and scored on a sacrifice fly by Tucker Redden. The scoring continued with one out when Nick Slaughter singled and Landon Etzel doubled for Wendell Champion II, who broke the game open with a two-run, two-out double to make it 3-0.
5th | Red added to its lead in the fifth with a pair of runs, highlighted by a two-run home run by Lockhart Jr., scoring Grayson Padgett, who reached on a two-out single up the middle.
6th | White made it interesting in the top of the sixth, plating two runs to make it a 5-2 game. Kyle Lovelace led off with a double down the right field line and came around to score on an RBI-double by Connor Hollis. Zach Needham followed with an RBI-single, scoring Hollis.

Red received another dominant pitching performance from its starter Aaron Fletcher, who went 3.2 innings, allowing no runs on three hits, while fanning four.
Five relief pitchers combined to allow just three runs on five hits in the final 5.1 innings.

Lael Lockhart Jr. led the way offensively for the Red Team, going 2-for-2 with a triple and home run, while driving in two RBI. He reached in all four plate appearances.

White’s pitching was equally as impressive in Game 2 as starter Ryan Randel tossed 3.1 innings, allowing two runs on four hits with two strikeouts.
In relief, Tyler Bielamowicz moved from left field to pitcher in the fifth and tossed 1.1 innings, allowing one hit with one strikeout. Clay Aguilar took over in the final two innings and threw a hitless outing.
Connor Hollis led the White offense, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, while also scoring a run and driving in one. Jared Triolo also had a two-hit game, while Zach Needham and Charlie Bartlett registered an RBI each.

At this time, only 2017 baseball season ticket members will have the opportunity to reserve a seat for 2018, as renewals are available by CLICKING HERE. Fans wishing to become a season ticket member will have the opportunity to purchase in early 2018.
Season tickets for 29 regular-season home games at Schroeder Park are available for $200 for the reserved chairback seating on the lower level of the concourse of the stadium.
For the fourth straight year, the additional "Reserved 2" seating option for the 2018 season is available as fans can purchase an assigned seat in sections 200, 201 and 202 for $150.
General admission seating will run in sections 203-209 and are available for $100 for the entire season.
All 2017 season ticket members should have received an email regarding the renewal process for 2018.
