    Fall Signee Total Now Seven

Two more student-athletes have signed early with the University of Houston baseball program for the 2001-2002 school year Cougar head coach Rayner Noble announced on Friday (November 10). The list of fall signees is now seven including five who were announced on Thursday (Nov. 9)

The new signees are Stuart Musslewhite from Lamar High School in Houston and Jesse Crain from nearby San Jacinto Junior College. Crain is a right-handed pitcher and shortstop who helped the San Jacinto Gators to postseason tournament play in 2000. Originally from Boulder, Colorado, Crain was the Colorado High School Player of the Year as a senior in 1999. Musslewhite is a two-time First Team All-District 17-5A honoree from Lamar who is versatile enough to play different infield positions. The first season of competition for both signees would begin in the spring of 2002.

Last season the UH baseball team won a school record 48 games on the way to winning both the Conference USA regular season and post-season tournament championships as well as the Houston Regional held at Cougar Field.
