Houston Baseball to Host Winter Camps in January

HOUSTON — Houston Baseball has announced the dates and details of its Winter Camps, slated to be held the first two weekends in January.

BASEBALL WINTER CAMPS
This pre season training camp will provide a great tune up for the season ahead by incorporating skill work and various competitions. All instruction will be provided by the Houston Baseball staff and current players. Participants will receive coaching on hitting, position specific skills and pitching. This camp is designed for players 6-12 yrs. of age.
Players will be grouped by age for all instruction and scrimmages.
UH OFFENSIVE TRAINING
This camp is designed to help each camper develop and advance their hitting and offensive skills.
Campers will be taught a variety of drills in order to develop proper swing mechanics. Stance, stride, rotation, and balance are just a few of the key topics that will be discussed and practiced in depth. In addition we will also discuss mental game techniques and approach.
UH PITCHER-CATCHER TRAINING
Each camper will receive high-level instruction for pitching and catching.
Important fundamentals including throwing mechanics, footwork, and other skills related to pitching and catching will be practiced. Each player will take away drills specific to the position they play. Improving your defensive game or pitching skills can give you the extra edge you need to make a school's team or catch the eye of a college coach or professional scout.
Per NCAA rules all camps and clinics held by the University of Houston are open to everyone, enrollment is only limited based on age, grade level or number restrictions be each camp.
