HOUSTON — Highlighted by a talented core of high school student-athletes, Houston Baseball has inked nine National Letters of Intent during the NCAA Baseball Early Signing Period, announced by head coach Todd Whitting Thursday morning.

The nine high school players hail from three different states, but seven reign from the state of Texas. All nine are ranked among the Top 20 at their respective positions and hold Top 100 national rankings by Perfect Game USA.

Of the nine, Houston has signed three left-handed arms, two right-handed pitchers, one shortstop, one utility player and one catcher/first baseman.

Trey Supak (La Grange, Texas), Connor Wong (Pearland, Texas), Aaron Fletcher (Houston), Derek Dickerson (Houston), Pat Day (Tyler, Texas), Seth Romero (West Columbia, Texas), Michael Wisz (Chicago, Ill.), Erin Baldwin (Lake Charles, La.) and Braeden Holub (Tomball, Texas) all plan to join Houston Baseball for the 2015 season under Whitting, recruiting coordinator and assistant coach Trip Couch, pitching coach Frank Anderson and assistant coach Ryan Shotzberger.

    Trey Supak
RHP |  La Grange HS (La Grange, Texas)
Perfect Game Rankings: Texas: 17th, 8th RHP | National: 62nd RHP
Recruiting Coordinator Trip Couch on Trey: Trey is a 6-foot-5 right-handed pitcher that will have an immediate impact on our pitching staff. He is very poised and has performed on the biggest stages this summer. Trey is the nephew of former UH All-American Jody Supak and son of former Pan-American great Tom Supak. Trey pitched his high school to the State 3A Championship this past year.  He played for the Houston Heat in the summer as well as the Texas Rangers Area Code Team.

    Connor Wong
SS |  Pearland HS (Pearland, Texas)
Recruiting Coordinator Trip Couch on Connor: Connor is a great baseball player.  He plays the game the right way and will come in and have an immediate impact in our program. He plays at Pearland for former UH Cougar Anthony Scalise and in the summer for former Cougar greats Shane Nance and Tyson Schweitzer at Houston Mizuno Select. Connor has performed all over the country this past year at the highest level and is one of the best pure baseball players I have seen in a while. He has easily proven to be one of the top shortstops in America.

    Aaron Fletcher
LHP |  Langham Creek HS (Houston, Texas)
Perfect Game Rankings: Texas: 5th LHP  |  National: 43rd LHP
Recruiting Coordinator Trip Couch on Aaron: Aaron plays for longtime Houston coaching legend Armando Sedeno at Langham Creek High School. Aaron is a strong bodied-left handed pitcher that should come in and compete for meaningful innings right away. He has the feel for pitching and has tremendous upside that will allow him to flourish under Coach Anderson.

    Derek Dickerson
    C/1B |  Cy-Ranch HS (Houston, Texas)
Recruiting Coordinator Trip Couch on Derek: Derek plays for Coach John Pope on one of the most successful high school teams in the state. He is a big strong kid that has always hit and hit for power.  With the new bats, having a kid that still has legitimate power is crucial. Derek has a chance to be a run-producing middle-of-the-order type bat. He plays for the highly successful Kyle Chapman program in the summers led by Mike Rutledge.

    Pat Day
LHP  |  Chapel Hill HS (Tyler, Texas)
Perfect Game Rankings: Texas: 4th LHP  |  National: 34th LHP
Recruiting Coordinator Trip Couch on Pat: Pat is an athletic strong-armed left-handed pitcher with tremendous upside. He has the ability to flourish under the tutelage of Coach Anderson. Pat has an upper 80’s low 90 fastball and the ability to spin a breaking ball. He will bring a huge upside to our program.

    Seth Romero
LHP  |  Columbia HS (West Columbia, Texas)
Perfect Game Rankings: Texas: 7th LHP  |  National: 51st LHP
Recruiting Coordinator Trip Couch on Seth: Seth is a talented left-handed pitcher that has the ability to throw three quality pitches. He has been slowly returning from some injury issues so his best is still yet to come. He will be a key contributor this spring at Columbia and will be a guy that can help our staff very quickly.

    Michael Wisz
Utl.  |  Lemont HS (Chicago, Ill.)
    Perfect Game Rankings: Illinois: 17th, 5th 1B
Recruiting Coordinator Trip Couch on Michael: Michael is a 6-foot-3 right-handed hitter that has a chance to be a middle-of-the-order type bat. He has played in numerous big events this past year and performed at a high level against some of the nation’s best. Michael is a good athlete that can play all over the field and will bring some right-handed power to the program. He is just scratching the surface of what type of player he can be.

    Erin Baldwin
RHP  |  Barb HS (Lake Charles, La.)
Perfect Game Rankings: Louisiana: 17th, 5th RHP
Recruiting Coordinator Trip Couch on Erin: Erin is a 6-foot-7 right-handed pitcher that is still growing into his body. He plays for legendary Louisiana coach Glenn Ceccini at Barbe High School, one of the best programs in America. Erin is a strike thrower that has a chance to really take off in the coming years as he physically matures. He had a great summer and fall pitching in numerous national events.

    Braeden Holub
RHP  |  Tomball HS (Tomball, Texas)
Perfect Game Rankings: Texas: 61st, 21st RHP
Recruiting Coordinator Trip Couch on Braeden: Braeden plays for Coach Doug Rush at perennial power Tomball High School. He is a big strong physical kid with a great deal of upside. He has performed for the national power Houston Banditos and coach Ray Deleon in the past summers. Braeden has the ability with hard work to be an extremely hard thrower with a breaking ball that will be a swing and miss type pitch.
