Baseball `Fan Appreciation' & Alumni Game - Feb. 1

HOUSTON – Poised and ready to hit the field for the 2014 season, Houston Baseball invites fans, free of charge, to its annual `Fan Appreciation Day' and Alumni Game, slated for 1 p.m. Saturday, February 1 at Cougar Field.

Former Houston standouts will make their way to Cougar Field in preparation for the Alumni Game, which featured over 60 players, including names like Brad Lincoln, Doug Drabek, Scott Sheldon, Jesse Crain and many more a year ago.

The contest will put the 2014 Cougars vs. a roster of former Houston standouts. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to watch batting practice and sign up for prizes.

Alumni looking to attend this annual event are asked to contact Traci Cauley (tcauley@central.uh.edu or 713-743-9396) by Friday, January 24.

Registration will begin Saturday morning at 10 a.m. and batting practice will immediately follow at 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 1.

A former players' reunion is scheduled for Friday, January 31.  

February 1 will not only serve as the 2014 Alumni Game, but as Fan Appreciation Day as well.

  • Chance to win great prizes throughout the game
  • Pregame kids can participate in `Anthem Buddies'
  • Postgame kids can participate by running the bases
  • Autograph session at the conclusion of the event
