HOUSTON (AP) - Andre Owens scored 28 points and Louis Truscott added 17 points and 14 rebounds to lead Houston to a 72-59 victory over Saint Louis on Saturday.

Owens was 7-of-13 from the field, including 5-of-8 three pointers for Houston (3-10, 1-1 Conference USA).

Saint Louis (6-9, 0-4) was up 33-30 at the half and held the lead until Bryan Shelton hit a 3-pointer with 10:25 left to give Houston a 48-47 lead. His shot came during a 24-6 run that turned a 45-40 deficit into a 64-51 Houston lead.

Marque Perry led Saint Louis with 16 points. Behind Perry, Izik Ohanon had 14 points and Kenny Brown had 10 rebounds.

Saint Louis got off 20 more field goal attempts than Houston but made only two more. The Billikens were 24-of-67 from the field to 22-of-47 for the Cougars.

Houston was 21-of-24 from the free throw line, while Saint Louis was 6-of-10. Owens was 9-for-9 and Truscott was 7-of-8.
