TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Anwar Ferguson and Andre Owens each scored 15 points to lead Houston to a 65-53 win over South Florida on Saturday night.

Houston (8-10, 2-5 Conference USA), who came into the game last in the league in field goal percentage, shot 47.8 percent from the field while holding South Florida to just 28.6 percent from the floor.

Houston's defense held the Bulls (6-10, 0-5) without a field goal attempt for a 6:08 stretch in the second half. South Florida's first field goal of the second half didn't come until the 9:41 mark on a steal and lay-up by Bradley Mosley.

Mosley's shot cut the Houston lead to 41-30, but the Bulls got no closer than nine points the rest of the way. Mosley, who leads the team in scoring, was held to just seven points.

The Cougars led 28-18 at halftime en route to their first road victory of the season. Houston never trailed in the game and led by as many as 15 points in the second half.

Terrence Leather scored 22 points and grabbed a career-high 18 rebounds to lead South Florida. He was the only double-digit scorer for the Bulls.
