FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - Junior Blount and Bingo Merriex each scored 19 points, leading TCU to an 87-69 win over Houston on Saturday night.

TCU (13-12, 3-8 Conference USA) scored 26 points off 18 Houston turnovers, and outrebounded the Cougars 55-42.

Houston (12-11, 5-5) was never able to get on track, shooting just 29.5 percent from the field in the first half.

Merriex added 13 rebounds, and Marlon Dumont had seven points and 12 rebounds for the Horned Frogs. Corey Santee added 13 points and Corey Valsin had 11.

The Cougars were led by Dominic Smith's 24 points, and Patrick Okafor chipped in 14 points and 11 rebounds.
