** With 110 points, the Cougars enjoyed their first triple-digit game since a 101-54 win over Prairie View A&M (Nov. 29, 2006).
** The Cougars' 59 first-half points were the most since the team scored 59 in the first half at Conference USA rival Tulane (Jan. 25, 2006).
** The Cougars' 110 points were the program's most since a 131-62 win over Florida Tech (Nov. 22, 2005)
** Tuesday's 53-point win was the biggest since the Cougars enjoyed a 131-62 (69 points) win over Florida Tech (Nov. 22, 2005).
** The Cougars' five turnovers were the lowest since committing four giveaways at Tulsa in the College Basketball Invitational semifinals (March 26, 2008).
** This marked the fourth straight season that the Cougars opened the year with a 3-1 start... In 2004-05, the Cougars began the season 2-2.
** With the win, the Cougars improved to 3-0 in the all-time series against Alcorn State... The Cougars also improved to 2-0 all-time against Alcorn State in Houston.
** Tuesday's game against Alcorn State was the first meeting between the schools since 1988.
** The Cougars now will take nearly two weeks off before returning to action at 7 p.m., Nov. 29, when they play host to North Texas in Hofheinz Pavilion... That game will end the Cougars' season-long, three-game homestand.
** With 17 points and 11 rebounds, senior center Marcus Cousin recorded his second double-double of the season and his career.
** With 20 points, junior guard Aubrey Coleman recorded the first 20-point game by a Cougar this season.

** With nine assists, freshman point guard Desmond Wade set a career high in that category... His total topped his previous high of eight assists set against Western Kentucky in the Cougars' home opener (Nov. 15).. Wade has now dished out a team-high 24 assists with only five assists this season.
** Sophomore guard Yan Moukoury made his season debut with the Cougars.
** Tuesday's game was Penders' first game against Alcorn State.
