    HOUSTON HEAD COACH James Dickey
    On the game

"We got beat by a really good basketball team. We knew they were very efficient offensively. We thought the big turnaround was the last three minutes and thirty seconds of the first half. We had a nine point lead and made some critical errors. We never really regained momentum. I was proud of how our guys competed. Our defense wasn't as good. They shot 67%. We didn't shoot as well as we're capable. We'll grow."

    HOUSTON JUNIOR FORWARD TaShawn Thomas
    On the loss of lead

"We didn't play as intense on the defensive end in the second end. We didn't contest as many shots. In the first half, we had more pop. We just lost focus and didn't compete."

    On the game physicality
"It was a very physical game. They have a size advantage over us. We knew from the get-go that it was going to a physical game."

    STANFORD HEAD COACH JOHNNY DAWKINS
    On the game

"For us it was a really good second-half. I thought we did a very good job and were very efficient offensively in the second-half. I thought in the first-half they did a great job of taking us out of the things we wanted to do. They made it difficult for us, but I thought our adjustments were good and we came back in the second-half with a much stronger performance. I give them a lot of credit, they played with a lot of spirit, a lot of energy and they mixed up their defense quite a bit and threw us off. Our guys really had to adjust to a lot of changing defenses, as well as their quickness and athleticism."

    On Anthony Brown
"He is huge for us and he has done that several times for us in the preseason. He stepped up big and made big shots for us. That's who he was before he left; he was just starting to find out the type of player he can become. I was just concerned about the injury and sitting out all season would maybe slow his progress or set him back some, but I think he is actually better. He is bigger, stronger and more confident."
