** The Cougars competed in their first true road game of the 2008-09 season at Middle Tennessee... UH opened the season at the 2K Sports Classic benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer by splitting neutral-site games against Georgia Southern and Presbyterian at host Duke's Cameron Indoor Stadium. ** With only eight turnovers, the Cougars recorded their fifth straight game with fewer than 10 turnovers. ** With the win, the Cougars improved to 2-0 in the all-time series against Middle Tennessee... Tuesday's game was the Cougars' first game in Murfreesboro, Tenn. ** With Tuesday's win, the Cougars won their second straight game against Middle Tennessee. ** With Tuesday's win, the Cougars enjoyed their third straight win over a Sun Belt Conference school this season (70-67 at Middle Tennessee, Dec. 2, 2008; 84-51 over North Texas on Nov. 29, 2008; 73-64 over Western Kentucky, Nov. 18, 2008) and fifth straight overall dating back to the 2005-06 season... ** Following a break for final examinations, the Cougars return to action at 7 p.m., Dec. 13, when they meet play host to Mississippi Valley State inside Hofheinz Pavilion.
** With 23 points, junior guard Kelvin Lewis recorded his third straight 20-point game (20 points, vs. North Texas, Nov. 29, 2008; 23 points, vs. Alcorn State, Nov. 18, 2008)... It was the first time in his career that Lewis recorded three consecutive 20-point games.
** Junior guard Kelvin Lewis became the first Cougar player in 2008-09 to play all 40 minutes in a game... He became the first Cougar to play every minute in a game since guard Robert McKiver at Conference USA-rival East Carolina (March 1, 2008). ** Playing 40 minutes, junior guard Kelvin Lewis set a personal best in that category... His total topped his previous high of 39 minutes against Presbyterian during the consolation game of the 2K Sports Classic benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer inside Duke's Cameron Indoor Stadium (Nov. 11, 2008). ** With 24 points, junior guard Aubrey Coleman recorded his second 20-point game of the season and his career. ** With 24 points, junior guard Aubrey Coleman enjoyed a career high... His total topped his previous high of 20 points set against Alcorn State (Nov. 18, 2008). ** With six steals - all in the second half - junior guard Aubrey Coleman set a personal best... His total topped his previous record of four steals against Presbyterian during the consolation game of the 2K Sports Classic benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer (Nov. 11, 2008). ** Playing 37 minutes, junior guard Aubrey Coleman set a personal high in that category, topping his previous best of 29 minutes against Alcorn State (Nov. 18, 2008). ** With six blocks, senior center Marcus Cousin set a career high... His total bested his previous high of four blocks against Conference USA-rival Memphis (Feb. 13, 2008). ** With eight points, sophomore forward Horace McGloster tied his career high, set against Western Kentucky (Nov. 15, 2008) and against Conference USA-rival UTEP (Jan. 19, 2008).
