** With Saturday's win, the Cougars recorded their sixth straight win... It marked the team's longest winning streak since reeling off 10 consecutive victories from Nov. 16, 2008 to Jan. 2, 2009.

** With Saturday's win, the Cougars improved to 6-1... It marked the second straight season that the Cougars began the season 6-1 through the first seven games.

** The Cougars' 6-1 start tied the 2007-08 team for the best since the 1998-99 season.

** With only eight turnovers, the Cougars recorded their sixth straight game with fewer than 10 turnovers... The Cougars lead the nation with only 8.6 turnovers per game.

** With Saturday's 34-point win, the Cougars enjoyed their third victory of 30 points or more in their last four games (92-58 [34] vs. Mississippi Valley State; 70-67 [3], at Middle Tennessee, Dec. 2, 200; 84-51 [33] vs. North Texas, Nov. 29, 2008; 110-57 [43] vs. Alcorn State, Nov. 18, 2008).

** The Cougars improved to 2-0 in the all-time series against Mississippi Valley State... Saturday's game was the Cougars' first game against the Delta Devils since a 78-69 win at the Kactus Classic in Tempe, Ariz., on Dec. 5, 1986.

** With eight rebounds, junior guard Aubrey Coleman tied his career high... He equaled his best set against Alcorn State (Nov. 29, 2008).

** Senior center Marcus Cousin fell just one rebound shy of recording a double-double... It marked the third time this season that the Baltimore native finished with double-digit points and nine rebounds (12 pts., nine rebs., vs Western Kentucky, Nov. 15, 2008; 18 pts., nine rebs., at Middle Tennessee, Dec. 2, 2008).

** With Saturday's win, head coach Tom Penders improved to 614-411 (.599) during his career... Penders also is 87-50 (.635) during his UH tenure.

** Saturday's game was Penders' first game against Mississippi Valley State during his career.
