2008-09 Houston Cougars Men's Basketball Postgame Notes
** With Saturday's win, the Cougars improved to 6-1... It marked the second straight season that the Cougars began the season 6-1 through the first seven games. ** The Cougars' 6-1 start tied the 2007-08 team for the best since the 1998-99 season. ** With only eight turnovers, the Cougars recorded their sixth straight game with fewer than 10 turnovers... The Cougars lead the nation with only 8.6 turnovers per game. ** With Saturday's 34-point win, the Cougars enjoyed their third victory of 30 points or more in their last four games (92-58 [34] vs. Mississippi Valley State; 70-67 [3], at Middle Tennessee, Dec. 2, 200; 84-51 [33] vs. North Texas, Nov. 29, 2008; 110-57 [43] vs. Alcorn State, Nov. 18, 2008). ** The Cougars improved to 2-0 in the all-time series against Mississippi Valley State... He equaled his best set against Alcorn State (Nov. 29, 2008). ** Senior center Marcus Cousin fell just one rebound shy of recording a double-double...
