** With Saturday's win, the Cougars recorded their seventh straight win... It marked the team's longest winning streak since reeling off 10 consecutive victories from Nov. 16, 2008 to Jan. 2, 2009.
** With Saturday's win, the Cougars improved to 7-1... It marked the second straight season that the Cougars began the season 7-1 through the first eight games.
** The Cougars' 7-1 start tied the 2007-08 and 1997-98 teams for the best since the 1991-92 season.
** With 13 turnovers, the Cougars saw their streak of games with 10 or fewer turnovers snapped at six games... It was the first time that the Cougars reached double digits in turnovers since posting 14 giveaways against Georgia Southern in the season opener at the 2K Sports Classic benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer on Nov. 10, 2008... The Cougars lead the nation with only 8.6 turnovers per game.
** With the win, the Cougars improved to 3-2 in the all-time series against Toledo... The Cougars also won their second straight game against the Rockets, a first by either team in the all-time series.
** The Cougars improved to 1-2 (.333) all-time at Toledo... It was the first time that either team won on the road in the all-time series.
** The Cougars return to action at 5 p.m., Dec. 28, inside Hofheinz Pavilion.... That game against Iowa State will be part of a doubleheader with the Cougar women's basketball team, who plays host to Akron at 2 p.m.
** With 17 points and 11 rebounds, senior center Marcus Cousin recorded his third double-double of the season and of his career.
** Playing all 40 minutes, senior center Marcus Cousin set a career high in that category... Ironically, Cousin's previous high came against Toledo on Dec. 4, 2007, in Houston
** With 15 points and 13 rebounds, junior guard Aubrey Coleman recorded the first double-double of his career... He joined senior center Marcus Cousin as the only Cougar players to record a double-double this season.
** With 13 rebounds, junior guard Aubrey Coleman set a personal high in that category... His total topped his previous high of eight rebounds set against Mississippi Valley State (Dec. 13, 2008) and against Alcorn State (Dec. 13, 2008).
** With seven steals, junior guard Aubrey Coleman set a career high in that category... He topped his previous high of six steals set at Middle Tennessee (Dec. 2, 2008).
** With 17 points, junior forward Qa'rraan Calhoun recorded a season high in that category... His total topped his previous season high of 15 points against Western Kentucky (Nov. 15, 2008)... Calhoun scored a career-high 21 points against Providence (March 4, 2007) as a member of St. John's team.
** With 19 points, junior guard Kelvin Lewis saw his streak of games with at least 20 points snapped at four games.
** With six assists, freshman point guard Desmond Wade recorded his seventh straight game with at least four assists... During that streak, Wade also has recorded at least twice as many assists as turnovers in each game... Wade currently has an assist : turnover ratio of 3.8 : 1.
** With Saturday's win, head coach Tom Penders improved to 2-0 all-time against Toledo during his career... Both wins came during his tenure at Houston.
