Cougars Lose In Back-And-Forth Affair With Creighton

HONOLULU (AP) -- Houston and Creighton battled back and forth Friday night in the semifinals of the Rainbow Classic, with the Blue Jays coming out on the winning end of an 80-72 decision.
Dane Watts scored 21 points to lead Creighton (6-3), with Isacc Miles adding 16 points and Anthony Tolliver had 10.
Miles' breakaway layup with 16:42 remaining gave the Blue Jays the lead for good, 46-44, in a game that featured 15 lead changes and four ties.
Creighton outscored Houston 14-4 in the first six minutes of the second half to take a 53-45 lead.
Houston went 12-of-39 from beyond the arc.
Creighton advances to face the winner of the Hawaii-Nebraska game for the Rainbow Classic championship Saturday night.
