HOUSTON - University of Houston Men's Basketball head coach James Dickey will compete against 47 other NCAA Division I coaches during the Infiniti Coaches' Charity Challenge with voting slated to begin at 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 6.
Dickey will be competing for his charity of choice, Coaches vs. Cancer. As he advances through five voting rounds, he will raise more and more money for Coaches vs. Cancer.
Fans are invited to vote for Coach Dickey at espn.com/infiniti beginning at 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 6, and will be allowed to cast their ballots once a day while voting lasts. The First Round is slated to last until 10:59 a.m., Jan. 26, with the top 24 vote-getters advancing to the Second Round.
Voting will consist of five rounds. Twenty-four coaches who advance to the Second Round will receive $7,500 for their charities, while 16 coaches will move to the Third Round and receive $10,000 for their charities. In the Final Four, three coaches will receive $15,000 for their charities with the winner's charity to receive $100,000.
"In today's world, everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer," Dickey said. "I am proud to be a part of a great event like this that helps raise awareness and money for the American Cancer Society, which is committed to end this terrible disease."
