Houston, Texas - The University of Houston plays its second straight Conference USA home game when the Cougars play host to Memphis on Saturday, January 26, at 7:35 p.m.

The Cougars enter the game with an 11-7 overall record and a 4-2 C-USA mark, while Memphis is 16-4 this year and the Tigers are 6-0 in league play.

Houston is looking to win its fifth straight game when the Cougars play Memphis on Saturday night. The Cougars are off to their best start since 1992-93 with an 11-7 record and best start in conference play since 1995-96 after beating Southern Miss, 74-66, last Wednesday night.

The Cougars began the 1992-93 campaign with a 12-6 mark and began league play with a 6-2 record as a member of the Southwest Conference in 1995-96.

Before the win over Southern Miss, Houston defeated UAB, 80-71, in Birmingham on January 19 after winning at Prairie View A&M, 99-85, on January 17 and against TCU, 82-71, in overtime on January 15.

The victory against Southern Miss was also Houston's sixth win in its last eight games. In addition to the four previous wins, the Cougars beat Tennessee State, 91-60, on December 30, and won a 69-66 decision at Tulane on January 7.

The Cougars' two losses were a 67-64 loss at Saint Louis on January 5 and an 83-62 loss versus 10th-ranked Cincinnati on January 12.

Memphis will be looking to win its seventh straight game after beating UAB, 102-81, last Wednesday. The Tigers enter Saturday night's game with a 16-4 overall record and they are off to their best start in conference play since 1985-86 with a 6-0 C-USA mark.
