HOUSTON, Texas - The University of Houston Athletics Department will recognize the 1955-56 men's basketball team at halftime of the UH versus Cincinnati basketball game on Saturday, February 7 at 2:00 PM.

In coach Alden Pasche's final season at UH, the Cougars finished 19-7, won the Missouri Valley Conference Title and was the first team to make it to the NCAA Tournament. First team All-Missouri Valley Conference and Honorable Mention All-American center Don Boldebuck led the Cougars with 21.4 points and 15.8 rebounds. The Cougars starting five included second team All-Conference forward Art Helms, Jack Foster, Dan Dotson and Lupe Lopez. The '55-'56 season was the final season coach Guy V. Lewis was an assistant for UH before leading the Cougars for 30 seasons.
