The University of Houston men's basketball team will be looking to snap a five-game losing streak when the Cougars return home to play host to the Charlotte 49ers in a Conference USA game on Sunday, February 4, at 6:00 p.m.
Houston enters the game with 4-15 overall record and are 1-6 in C-USA play after suffering a 65-53 loss at UAB last Wednesday night. The current skid began with a 79-67 loss at Louisville on January 17, and the Cougars also suffered a 72-68 loss at Memphis on January 20 and a 72-51 loss at Southern Miss on January 24. UH also lost its last home game, 93-68, against South Florida on January 27.
Meanwhile, Charlotte enters the game with a 12-8 record heading into Thursday night's game against Cincinnati. The 49ers are also 4-4 in C-USA play after winning four of their last five games. Charlotte won C-USA road games at DePaul, 73-62, on January 17 and Marquette, 74-71, on January 20 before suffering an 81-61 setback at UAB on January 24. The 49ers returned home to beat Southern Miss, 71-60, on January 27 and Cincinnati, 60-58, last Thursday night.
