HOUSTON - Due to the wintry weather scheduled to move through the Houston area Thursday afternoon, The Pulse with James Dickey presented by New York Life will not broadcast live from the Ragin' Cajun restaurant in Sugar Land, Texas.
However, the show will be heard live on SportsTalk 790 AM and at UHCougars.com, beginning at 7 p.m., Thursday.
Dickey, Ragin' Cajun managers, Houston Athletics administrators, IMG College representatives and SportsTalk 790 AM personnel agreed to cancel the show's appearance at the restaurant to keep Cougar fans off the roads as the severe weather hits the area.
Dickey teamed with broadcaster Tom Franklin earlier in the day Thursday to record the show and answer some fan questions inside the Carl Lewis Auditorium on the first floor of the Athletics/Alumni Center.
Studio technicians will piece the show together from the recordings that Dickey and Franklin made and broadcast the show tonight as scheduled.
Dickey leads his Cougar team into a 7:05 p.m., showdown Saturday, at Tulsa inside the Reynolds Center in Tulsa, Okla. Houston looks to snap a season-long four-game losing streak.
The Cougars enjoyed a 64-57 win against Tulsa on Jan. 19 inside Hofheinz Pavilion.
From there, the team returns to the friendly confines of Hofheinz Pavilion to play host to two C-USA rivals. Houston meets Tulane at 4 p.m., Feb. 12 before squaring off against SMU at 7 p.m., Feb.16.
