Cougar Talk with Tom Penders Slated for 7 p.m., Thursday

HOUSTON - University of Houston men's basketball head coach Tom Penders will take part in Cougar Talk at 7 p.m., Thursday, live from Irma's Southwest Grill.

Tom Franklin, the Voice of the Cougars, joins Penders for the show and will discuss Cougar Basketball and other topics of interest at Irma's, which is located in downtown Houston at the corner of Texas and Austin.

The hour-long show can be heard live on 790 AM The Sports Animal.

Cougar Talk with Tom Penders also will be broadcast from Irma's on Feb. 21, Feb. 28 and March 6.

Penders and his Cougar team return to action at 8 p.m., Wednesday, when they travel to Tennessee to meet No. 1 Memphis.

Fans can hear the game live on 790 AM The Sports Animal with Franklin calling the play-by-play action and Carl Dukes providing color analysis. The pregame show is slated to begin 10 minutes before tip-off.

The game also will be televised live on CSTV (DirecTV channel 610/Dish Network channel 152) with Tom Hart calling the play-by-play action and Steve Lappas adding color analysis.

Following the Memphis game, the Cougars return to the friendly confines of Hofheinz Pavilion to meet C-USA rival SMU at 7 p.m., Saturday.

Fans who purchase in advance can buy a Family Four Pack, which includes four reserved tickets and four T-shirts, for only $40. The offer will not be available at the door and is only good while supplies last.

Fans who buy the Family Four Pack in advance will receive vouchers that allow them to pick up their T-shirts at the marketing table behind section 108 on Saturday.

Fans also are invited to arrive early and receive free photos with Shasta and Sasha beginning at 5:30 p.m., in the concourse on the Holman Street Side of Hofheinz Pavilion.
