Memphis- - University of Houston senior guard Andre Owens has been named a Second-Team, All-Conference USA selection by a vote of C-USA coaches and media members.

Owens has averaged 17.8 points and 5.0 rebounds this season for the Cougars. He also enters Wednesday night's Conference USA Tournament game against USF having scored 20 points in each of Houston's last two regular season games. He netted 23 points against UAB last Saturday after equaling his season high of 27 points at Marquette on March 2. Owens also scored 27 points in Houston's 70-67 upset win over 16th-ranked Louisville earlier this season, and has scored 20 or more points in 14 games overall this season.

Marquette's Travis Diener, Louisville's Francisco Garcia and Curtis Withers of Charlotte were named First-Team, All-C-USA selections for the second straight year. Eddie Basden of Charlotte and Quemont Greer of DePaul on the First Team joined them.

Joining Owens as Second-Team, All-C-USA choices were Cincinnati forward Jason Maxiell, who also was a Second-Team selection in 2004, Terrence Leather of USF, Donnell Taylor of UAB and Rodney Carney of Memphis.

Darius Washington, Jr., of Memphis, Louisville's Taquan Dean, DePaul's Drake Diener, Cincinnati's Eric Hicks and TCU's Corey Santee were named Third-Team, All-C-USA selections.
