Watch Parties Set for Houston Men’s Basketball This Week

ORLANDO – University of Houston Men’s Basketball fans who can’t make the trip to Orlando for this week’s American Athletic Conference Championship will have plenty of options for places from which to root for the Cougars in the Houston area.

Winners of nine of their last 11 games, the Cougars earned a First-Round bye for the Championship and will face the winner of No. 7 seed UCF-No. 10 seed Tulane in the Quarterfinals at 6 p.m. (CST), Friday, on ESPNU. With a 22-8 overall record and 12-6 league mark, the Cougars will compete as the No. 2 seed at the tournament, first since 1996.

Fans can join fellow Houston fans at any of the following locations to watch all Houston Men’s Basketball games from the American Athletic Conference Championship this week.

Under the leadership of Head Coach Kelvin Sampson, the Cougars have engineered one of the nation’s biggest turnarounds from a year ago. Finishing 13-19 in 2014-15, Sampson has led a 10-game improvement this season to tie for ninth nationally.

With a win in Friday’s Quarterfinal match, the Cougars would advance to the semifinals to face the winner of (3) Tulsa-(6) Memphis at 4 p.m. (CST), Saturday, on ESPN2. Sunday’s Championship title game is set for 2:15 p.m., on ESPN.

To purchase tickets in person, fans can visit the Athletics Ticket Office located on the northeast corner of TDECU Stadium, just outside of Gate 1 off Cullen Boulevard. Parking is available in the TDECU Stadium parking garage with the first 30 minutes free of charge.

All-Session passes for the 2016 American Athletic Conference Championship are now on sale. The league’s annual postseason event will be held March 10-13 inside the Amway Center in Orlando.
