Men's Basketball Accepting 2013-14 Season Ticket Deposits

HOUSTON - As the University of Houston Men's Basketball team continues its postseason run, Houston fans are invited to begin their preparations now for an exciting 2013-14 season.

Fresh off a thrilling win against Texas inside Hofheinz Pavilion during the College Basketball Invitational First Round, fans may now place a $100 non-refundable deposit per account toward their season tickets for the 2013-14 season.

Fans who do so by 5 p.m., Monday, April 8, will make their names eligible in drawings for great prizes like tickets for two (2) to the AD's suite at a 2013 Houston Football game, lunch with head coach James Dickey and a commemorative basketball autographed by Houston legends Elvin Hayes, Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler.

ALL fans who put their deposits down before the April 8 deadline will receive an autographed team photo of Houston players celebrating in the stands with their fellow students following Wednesday's win against Texas. Those fans ALSO will receive two free tickets and be invited to a reception at an upcoming Houston Baseball home game.

To make their season-ticket deposits, fans can visit the Athletics Ticket Office, located on the first floor of the Athletics/Alumni Center, on Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m., to 5 p.m. Fans can call the Athletics Ticket Office at 713-GO-COOGS (462-6647) or visit on-line at UHCougars.com.

The Cougars are one of only two NCAA Division teams from the state of Texas still playing postseason basketball as of March 22. This marks the end of Houston's stay in Conference USA as the Cougars will join a new league in 2013-14 with some of the nation's top college basketball teams, including Louisville, Memphis, Connecticut and Cincinnati.

Fans can hear Monday's game live on SportsTalk 790 AM with Tom Franklin calling the play-by-play action and Houston legend and Basketball Hall of Famer Elvin Hayes providing analysis. The pregame show is slated to beging at 6 p.m. (CDT) / 7 p.m. (EDT), Monday.

The Cougars return to action at 6 p.m. (CDT) / 7 p.m. (EDT) Monday, when they meet George Mason in the CBI Quarterfinals inside the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Va. It will be the first meeting between the two teams on the hardwood.

With a win against the Patriots, Houston would potentially host a CBI Semifinal game on Wednesday night inside Hofheinz Pavilion. The four Semifinal games will be announced late Monday night shortly following the completion of all the CBI Quarterfinal games.
