ABOUT THE COUGARS
Under the leadership of The American and NABC District 25 Coach of the Year Kelvin Sampson, Houston returns three starters and seven lettermen from the 2017-18 team, which posted a 27-8 overall record, tied for second in The American with a 14-4 mark and captured the program’s first NCAA Tournament victory in more than 30 years.

Senior guard Corey Davis Jr. was named to The American All-Tournament team and ranked second among the Cougars with 13.1 points per game. The Lafayette, La., native became only the fourth player in Houston single-season history to drain 100+ treys in a season and buried at least one trey in 29 consecutive games for the third-longest streak in UH history.

Senior point guard Galen Robinson Jr. looks to become only the second player in school history with four 100+ assist seasons during his career, while junior guard Armoni Brooks was named as The American Sixth Man of the Year after averaging 9.3 points per game as a reserve.
