HOUSTON - Space remains available for University of Houston head coach James Dickey's Basketball Summer Camps, including Saturday's Position Camp. For those who were unable to register for camps early, walk-ups are welcome and will be accepted.

Saturday's Position Camp - which costs $30 per session - begins at 8 a.m., and runs until noon. The first half of the Position Camp will cover shooting and skills work. The second half - which will run from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. - will teach point guard and post play. Campers can sign up for one or both sessions of the Position Camp, depending on their interests.

Two additional Day Camps will run June 18-21 and Aug. 1-4. With limited enrollment for each camp, fans are encouraged to register early. Young players looking to develop their games and have fun with friends will thoroughly enjoy these camps.

Only checks, money orders or cash will be accepted until two weeks before the start of each camp. No checks will be accepted beginning two weeks prior to each camp. Campers who register on the day of camp must pay in cash or by money order ONLY. Walk-ups are welcome at each camp.

Credit cards will NOT be accepted as payment at any time.

To register or for the latest information, campers can call Michael Young at 713-743-9431 or email mwyoung2@central.uh.edu.

    THE CAMPS

All camps feature expert daily individual skills instruction from the Houston basketball staff and student-athletes and skill work. Players will be grouped by ages for instruction and drills with divisions according to playing experience and ability.

Campers will enjoy daily team and individual competitions with individual and team awards recognition at the end of camp.

Players also will receive a free camp T-shirt and attend an NCAA Student-Athlete information session. Lunch is included for all Day campers each day. However, lunch will NOT be provided for the Position Camp on Saturday.
